- Experience with vulnerability management, web application security, and firewall application support is desired.
- TCP/IP knowledge at a high level.
- Infrastructures for LAN and WAN.
- Services provided by most operating systems (IIS, BIND, Apache, AD, WINS, Samba, SSH).
- Strong understanding of contemporary firewall, intrusion detection system, and network vulnerability scanner technologies.

- Major web server software (IIS, Apache, Websphere, Tomcat, WebLogic), UNIX/Windows web services, and a variety of platforms and applications (Linux, Windows 2003/2008, Windows NT, Novell, Lotus Notes, Mac OS) are all required.
- Knowledge with Oracle and Microsoft SQL is very desirable.
